Public sector buildings are usually open to the general public and subject to very heavy traffic. At the same time, they have to provide workers with undisturbed and protected places to work. It is therefore important that their two areas are securely separated. Other frequent requirements are that several buildings are networked, since authorities are often based in different places; also the integration of time-management systems into the locking system, car park control for visitors and employees at offices with high traffic levels, and a means of regulating access for cleaning staff.

The flexible solution offered by SimonsVoss fulfils all of these requirements. For example, the main entrance can be fitted with an electric door-opener which can be left open during visitor hours, but only opened using a transponder at all other times. Time-keeping terminals are integrated into the system using Smart Relays, and are then operated by transponder. Cleaning teams are given access only at pre-determined times using specially programmed transponders. Car parks for visitors and secure car parks for employees can be separated off. The system is managed centrally and networked using WaveNet. In large buildings it can also be controlled using the locking system management software.
